So, after a list of about 15-20 “working titles,” the one that seems to stick best is simply, “Conversations with My Father.” Perhaps a subtitle is in order, too, but it’s how I find myself referring to my project in my mind. That’s what it is, in a nutshell. I like the simplicity of the name, but resent the way it makes me think of Tuesdays with Morrie (for some weird reason). I did a quick google search of my working title- just to make sure I wasn’t taking the name of some very famous work and I came up with only a few connections. It happens to also be the title of a broadway play from 1992 and a keepsake journal available on amazon for $9.53 (kind of interesting).
I’m a little disappointed to be completely unoriginal, but it also validates the choice in a way. The title may or may not change as I progress with my writing, but for now, it works for me. I still have to think about a potential subtitle should I decide to keep this name. “Conversations with My Father” it is! (at least for now).
